The Vietnam War Memorial Initiative (VWMI) is a project of the Military Order of the World Wars, Augusta Chapter, which is 501(c)(19) organization.

The VWMI Steering Committee is a multi-organizational committee made up of 18 non-profit patriotic community service organizations serving in a cooperative partnership to establish a permanent Vietnam War Veterans Memorial in downtown Augusta, Georgia.
